Suit Against Town of Remington.
John W. Harris of Remington, by his attorneys R. S. Dwiggins and W. B. Austin, has entered suit in the Jasper circuit court against the town of Remington to quit title to the famous “Oklahoma strip” in said town. The strip runs from a sharp point at Illinois street, west to New York street in said town, where it is some 40 feet wide, we believe. It runs a)ong the north side of the Parker bank and Taber block, south of the Pan Handle railroad, straight west. Title to the same was secured a few years ago by the late O. B. Mclntire, through deed, from Jesse Ford}me the original owner of the land. Mclntire transferred it to Thomas Harris and the latter to Jolm W. Harris. Title was disputed by the town which claims the ground for street and alley. More or less squabbling has since been going on. This suit will probably bring the matter of title to a focus.
