DE MOTTE.

Joe Tyler went to Chicago to-day on business. E. Sayers is working like a beaver in his beets. J. M. Troxell of Rensselaer, is in our village on business. Mr. and Mrs. Danford went to Rensselaer last Friday on business. Miss Rose Pinkston has returned home from a two weeks visit at Pontiac, 111. Mrs. W. C. Tyler, formerly of this place but now of Hammond, is visiting in DeMotte. Henry Frames spent the 4th with his parents, and returned Thursday near Kentland, where he is working. Rev. T. M. Yanderbosch and family started Monday last for Michigan, their old home. Will be absent three weeks. Rev. Smith, pastor of the M. E. church at Lowell, will preach in the M. E. church in this village next Thursday eve. Miss Ada Merril, who has been stopping at the Troxell house for several weeks, has returned home near Rose Lawn, Harvesting is here and the farmers are all busy gathering their hay and rye. Next will be the w heat, oats and corn to care for. The Reformed Holland church erected two miles west of DeMotte Is uow completed and will be dedicated in two weeks from this writing.
