Miss Mae Light of Wolcott, Sundayed with friends here. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Lucas on the 14th. The republicans will hold their township convention to-day. Stephen Yeoman spent a few days in Indianapolis last week. Fred Bowman of Monticello, spent Sunday with his parents at this place. Mrs. Frank Hardy of Rensselaer, is visiting the Hardy family at this place. Blanchard Elmore of Wolcott, spent Sunday with his parents at this place. Miss Ethel Bowman went to Oxford Tuesday for an extended visit with relatives. Mrs. Cooper and daughter Gertrude, returned home from Chicago, last Thursday. ' W. J. Morris started for Redlands. California, Wednesday, where he will make his future home. Mrs. Dr. Patton of Woodward, Okla., who has been visiting at this place, returned home Friday. The Misses June Bowman, Effie Luckey and Hattie Puckett were Goodland callers Tuesday. A railroad meeting Is called for to-day at Austin hall, immediately after the republican convention. . Mrs. L. Black and son Earl, of Denyer, Col., are visiting the families of Rob’t Parker and John Burger. Dr. Traugh has bought the dental parlors of W. J. Morris and will be here one day of each week hereafter. We leam that Frank Hines and family, formerly of this place, have this week moved from Monticello to Indianapolis. _ Mrs. E. J. Cobb, who has been visiting the family of James Lock, returned to her home in Cresent City, 111., Monday. Doc. Walzer, formerly of this place, spent a couple of days last week with friends, returning to his home in Watseka. Friday. Meridth Goodspeed went to Lafayette the first of the week, having secured a position as book-keeper, and expects to remain there the remainder of the summer. Mrs. Dr. Maxwell and son James, who have been visiting Mr. Rob't. Parker and family for the past ten days, returned to their home in Duluth. Minn.. Monday. Mrs. Bert Spencer, who spent the winter in Mexico, California and Arizona, started home Tuesday. Her busband and children went to Tipton. 111., to join her, where they will make a short visit and return home. Mr. Thomas Mullen and Miss Maude Taylor were married at the home of the bride in Wolcott, Wednesday evening. May 28. They will begin house eeping at once, in the Hemphill residence, or Maine street.
