Geo. Gorham Loses An Arm.

While working with Perkins’ well machine at John Knowlton’s farm, northwest of town a few miles, last Saturday, Geo. Gorham got his left arm caught in the cogs and mangled so badly that it was necessary to amputate the member just above the elbow. Mr. Gorham ia a poor but deserving man and has quite a family. E. A. Aldrich and C. W. Coen circulated gtybecription papers for his benefit and $127 was raised as a substantial testimonial of the sympathy of the people in his misfortune.
