Commissioners’ court convened Monday. Following Is a report of their deliberations: J A. Lam born, petition for 4 bridges in Carpenter tp.; A. W. Prevo, same, 2 in Gillnm; John F. Pettit, same, 2 in J. D. Babcock, same, Marion: continued. R B. Porter, petition for additional vault furniture; continued. A. O. Moore et al,ditch petition; final report approved. Petitions of S. T. Brusnaban et rlaudC- F. Stackhouse et al, for ditches; continued for publication, j Settlement made with the con ty j treasurer to Jan. 1, 1900. Report j examined, approved and ordered | published. G. L. Thornton, Supt., gravel road report; examined and approved Same, Jesse Nichols. Ray Thompson asked for release from lease oh old clerk’s office, east of conrt, house; prayer granted. W. H. Coo\er, clerk, reported fees collected for the quarter amounting to $516.70: R. B. Porter, recorder, same, $860.05; W. C. Babcock* auditor, same, $62.15; Nate J. Reed, sheriff, same, $1,09000. J. D. Babcock, petition to extend ; relief to poor persons in Marion tp; prayer granted and petitioner authorized to extend relief to Sarah Platt, Richard Stone, Mary Peyton, John King, Cora Morlan, B. F. Ramey, John Prey, Ellen Norris and Mattie Morlan in such amount as may be necessary, not excluding 115 each for quarter. Warren Springer et al, petition for highway; R. B. Harris; J. W. Cowdeu and J. Yeoman, et al, petition for highway; petition presently Nancy Gains, Josiah Gains, aud Ella Lewis, by their attorneys, ; asked to withdraw their names from petition and moved to dismiss \ cause as to them, to which petitioners object; motion sustained; i Sayler and Sayler and Milton Makeever, by attorneys, move to quash motion; overruled; defendants move to dismiss cause; John Harris, Samuel English and Win.
