County Cases Set for Trial.

The case of W. B. Burford vs Board of Commissioners of Jasper County, venued to White county, is set for trial next Monday. It will be remembered that this is the case where Burford sued to recover $714.52, the amount alleged to be due him for books and stationery furnished Jasper county and which claims were dismissed by the commissioners. Nearly all of the supplies for which Mr. Burford sues are alleged to have been furnish(£ during a period when the county had a contract with Wilson, Humphries & Co., for all such supplies at a given sum, $1,450. The trial will no doubt disclose on whose authority the supplies were ordered from Burford. The court house architects’ case, also venued to White, in which the plaintiffs seek to recover $1,300 alleged to be due them for extra services on the new court house, is set for next Tuesday. We have not learned what has been done with the Heinzman Bros , court house contractors, suit. The latter sued last February for $3,000 alleged to be due them for extras on the new court house, and the case was taken to White on change of venue.
