Tell him that every taxpayer in Jasper county, regardless of his political affiliations, should doff his hat to The Democrat, instead of cursing the paper and persecuting its editor, who has had the courage to make this fight when guilty county officers and every paper in the county was doing everything in their power to silence him, and were swearing by all that was good and bad that i we had a very low rate of county ’ tax and that it could not safely be reduced—statements which the 20 cent, reduction have proved to be false in every particular.
