A twenty-five-mHe railway for the Philippines was recently packed In the hold of a steamship at San Francisco. Everthing needed for the railroad vfoa sent except the ties, which will tie obtained in the islands. It is said that the railway will be used tq extend the thirty miles of railroad now controlled by the American troops. *
