TO REMOVE THE DAMS.
Illinois Valley’s Demand on Chicago Drainage District. Dredging of the Illinois river and the removing of all dams therein is demanded by the Illinois River Valley Association before the water of the Chicago drainage canal is turned into it. If this is done the association, by implication, promises to withdraw opposition to the plans of the Chicago drainage district. This was the net result of the meeting of the association at Whitehall, 111. Five thousand, persons were present and the result of their deliberations was incorporated in a set of resolutions which will be presented to Gov. Tanner and President McKinley.
