Knowledge Came Handy.

One day during Dr. Newman Hall's pastorate of a church in Yorkshire, he was chatting with a farmer about the best method of self-defense when attacked by a savage dog. “Take off your hat and hold it In front of you,” advised the farmer. “The dog will at once bite the rim.
