—WillGutheiie is cooking on tiie hydraulic dredge boat. —T. M. Callahan did business in Kankakee, IIL. Monday. —Mias Halm and Will O’Conner, visited Herman Ayler and family Sunday. —Canada school closed Monday after a very successful term of six months. —Mias Belle Seitz is visiting friends and relatives at Ada, Ohio, this week. —Greeiy Cook is sick with lung fever and the grip, he is not expected to live. —Albert Streblo returned Thursday from his visit to Hercher 111., and will work on the dredge. —James Stevens of Hercher, 111., is working on dredge No. 2. It will be ready for work in about 10 days. —James Meyers' house caught fire Wednesday night and burned to the ground. Most of the furniture was saved. —Messrs. Abler and Wilson transacted business in Kentland last week. They each purchased a team of mules while there.
