—Roads very smooth. —Mrs. Kessler is reported a little better. Mrs. Hinkle is some better at last reports. —The people still have the grip in this locality. —The weather is moderating some this week. —Mrs. Chris Arnold has been very ill for the last few weeks. —Samuel Hopkins is moving on his farm, lately purchased of Grant Renicker. —Elias Arnold and wife and baby are still confined to the house with the grip. -—Mrs. Jacob Lesh and daugh-ter-in-law, Mrs. Yannie Lesh, are on the sick list. -—Mr. Joel Root has been under the weather for some time but is feeling a little better at the present. —Mr. and Mrs. Snllenbarger from Ohio, are visiting friends and relatives on Nubbin Ridge this week. —Subscribe for The Democrat. it will tell you all aliout "Honest Abe's’* clock and other news of importance. —One of those young fellows who took the Burnstown scholars' pencils got ashamed of himself at the little sneaking act and gave tip some of the pencils.
