RESULTS IN ADJOINING COUNTIES.

Benton county gave a republican majority of 505 on the state ticket and elected a full set of republican county officers by majorities ranging from 266 for clerk to 686 for sheriff. Newton county gave a republican majority of 589 on the state ticket and elected the whole republican county ticket by majorities ranging from 202 for treasurer to 587 for sheriff. White county elected the entire democratic county ticket by majoritie3 ranging from 390 n commissioner to 472 on clerk, except recorder and coroner, the republican cahdidates for these two offices being elected by majorities of 62 and 57 respectively. * The county went republican on the state ticket by 8 majority. Lake county was carried by the republican state ticket by 712 majority. while the entire republican county ticket was elected by majorities of from 25 on sheriff to 650 on commissioner. A. F. Knotts run behind his ticket about 200 in the county. Starke county gave a majority of 61 for the democratic state ticket, elected democratic clerk, recorder, sheriff, coroner, surveyor, and one commissioner. Pulaski gave a democratic majority of 256 on state ticket, but the republicans elected clerk, auditor, treasurer, surveyor, and commissioner. The populists and prohibitionists had county tickets in the field, which accounts for the republican success in that â– county. Porter county gave a republican majority of 766 on state ticket, and elected an entire republican county ticket by majorities from 452 to 1049.
