The Government to-day received its ürst information regarding the disastrons eirthnnate on th 2d instant, at the tora of liabispe in the district of Moattzima, ßonora, by which 150 persons lost their lives. The earthquake occurred at 3:50 p. m. At the fame time the volcanic eruptions began Id the neighboring moua tains, lighting up the rammits for a Ion? dis tacce. The prediction is made here by local scientists that Mexico is about to undergo a general seismic convaisioa, and recent records of earthquake shocks show that there is widespread volcanic activity from one end of ileiico to the other.
