The (marges preferred against J. N. Templer, nominee on the Republican ticket lor Judge of the Circuit Court, were considered by the Central Committee to-day. Templer was charged with using money and whisky to procure his nomination, which was sustained before the committee to-day. After a long argument and much sympathy in tavor of Templer, the committee cast the vote as to his guilt, which stood U to 9. Colonel R. S. Gregory stood up for Templer in a wonderful appeal, and, with the slum of the county at his heels, failed in his efforts to hold the scapegoat on the ticket. The vote on removal stood 14 to Templer s son is roaming about the city to-night seeking whom he mav devour. Thegaugwho follows lempler defeated him to-day. The Republicans will call a mass convention to decide ad to the next step in reference to Judge. More Township Warrants. Set mock, Juue IS. At an express office hire are township warrants, interest and principal, to the amount of II.5MJ.30, held by Chicago parties, and drawn on Owen Township, this county. They are all signed by Robert X. Martin. Trustee of Owen Township. One warrant is for $740, dated Novem ber 12, liM, and is due June IS, lSi. Another is for $-y-.50, dated Urch 3, lw, and due June 20, 1SS6. Another is for l&i.70, dated March 4. l'vio. and due June 15, Several of thene warrants are made payable to R. B. Pollard, white others are indorsed by foiiard to imam u. rouue A t o , who, in turn, assigned them to Henry M. Holden, all of Chicago. This latter xentleman is rushing the collection of them here. At the Fin t National Bank of this city there are also some $2.400 worth of warrants, also drawn on Owen Township, and all due June 15, ls6, and held bv Chicago parties. They too are signed by Kobert N. Martin, as trns ee of Owen lownsnip and indorsed b Pollard to other parties. Altogether this foots up the nice little sum of Si.000, which will well nigh bankrupt the townsaipof Owen u bhe should have it to pay. The Solitary Graduate. VINCEX5ES, June IS. The public schools closed to-day, and Miss Grace Brewer graduated, solitary and alone, her white sisters having deserted her. Mies Brewer's essay is entitled "The Difficulties of Educating the Colored Youth; Their Advantages and i'isadvantages." Opinion appears to be equally divided as to the white girls leaving school! Parents of the girls sustain their action, partly through force. 1'oliticully, the girls are five Republicans and three lemocrats, if they follow the teachings of their fathers. Miss Brewer has become famous aLd congratulatory letters are pouring in upon her from all parts of the country, and nt infre quently a telegram from some suffragist asaocia-ciation-that of kokomo, Ind., Fending her a beautiful silk badtre with the inscription. "Liber ty. .Equality, Justice." Alius Brewer is of hand some features and form, and graceful ami ace m plithcd, and in the excitement she has been unas nmicg and modest. Reconsidered. Colvmbus, June 18. In a special from this place the day of the Democratic County Conven tion the statement was made that the Representa tive in this county be instructed by the convention to vote for Joseph K. McLtonald for L'nitfd States ht-nator. Such a resolution was passed but it was afterward rescinded, and the sepresentutive was left to act as he thought best for tne interests I me party. Eighth Cocgreeslo-ial District. Kockvilie, June 18, Tue Democratic Coa gTessional Committee for this, the Eighth District, met here to-day to fix a time for holding the Democratic Congressional Convention. After a shoit deliberation. July 7 was agreed upon as the time and this city as the place for the meeting of theconvention. The ratio of delegates is oue for tacn M) votes. Bitten by a Itattlesnake. Lt'GaxpwKT, June 18. Mrs. Jennie Wilburn, a lady living near Idaville, was bitten by a rattlesnake. No aisagreeaDle symptoms were shown. but in a few clays she died, after giving birth to a cmid, whicn is still living. THE CROP SUMM AR x. The TT beat Nearly Up to the Average Corn Uniformly Good. Chka'.o, Jane 20. Tne following crop lomicuy will appear in this week's is3ue of the Farmers' Review: Harvesting is in progress in some portions of Ohio and Indiana, and in large sections of KeLtuckT, Missouri, Kansas and Tennessee the grain has already been gathered. The yield in all these States with, the exception of Kansas promises to be nearly up to the average, and in Missouri will be over the average. In Washington County, Missjnri, the report is made that the grain is threshing out an average of twenty-one bushels to the acre in many field?, jn southern Illinois reports of damage by chinch bags in the wheat fields still continue, and in St Clair County the averages have been so aerions as to , reduce the probable yield from five to seven bushels an acre. In central Illinois the outlook for winter wheat continues food. The serious drouth threatening almost the entire spring wheat belt has been quite generally broken by copious rains. The danger which seemed to threaten the lue of almost tne entire crop has pisaed, The aeracef the general yield in Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin has been lessened probably 10 per cent, by the prolongation of the drouta, and in portions of Tennessee catted an almost total blight in which the rain came too lab to revive the grain. Ina few portions of Wisconsin rains have fallen to relieve the dry weather. In Iowa and Nebraska no sensible injury to the wheat is reported from the drouth, but the oats pros pect nave been rreatly lessened, and in seven Iowa counties the reports indicate the average has been rednced fully 25 ner cent. The corn outlook in the btates of Minne sota, Wisconsin, Iowa. Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana is almost uniformity frood. iSome injury by Che cut worms is reported from dillerent sections, but it is not such as to aü'ect the general crop oatlook. The fields in Minnesota, Kansas and Iowa re reported especially clear and promising, VThea Baby was s4ck, we gare her CASTOBJJL When the was a Child, she cried for C ASTORIA When she became Miaa, she clang to CAST0EIA, Wien ab bad Children, she gave them CAST" A There are many accidents and diseases which enect stock and cause serious lncon veniecce and loss to the farmer in his work. which may be nuickly remedied by the use cf Dr. J.
