A 8ALE3MAJT3 SAKKO W E3CaI'. To sell goods appears to be easy business, especially when the goods are so beautifal and attractive as to seem almost to sell them selves. But thete are duties and responsibilities connected with the life of a headealecman in a great establishment, of which the casual shopper has very little idea. One of tbe largeft houses in the artistic porcelain aid gists btsiness not long asocame near Iceir-gits chief salesman. Had he died, as it was expected he would, his place wonld bsve been a very difficult one to 1L Iiis ttcape from death was indeed a very narrow cue. Be ris with him i he marks of a teT'-re tnsele with disease, but Ebows, both in his countenance and his actiots, that be has won tha victory. We will let Mr. Clark tell hia own story: "My trouble," he eaid. "was chletly with ray 1be8 acd throat. Originally I hai a t cad conEtitution, and came of a hea'thy family, my mother having reached the a ivatctdage of eicrhty-two, and being still an active woman. During the war I could encure long marches and Be vc re fatigue, and could lie on Ine ground at night without heirs attacked by rheumatism. My first sickcess was four years ago in a malarious re gion in Connecticut. The malaria got the better of ire, and laid the foundation for catnrrh and all the other evils 1 have been affile' ed with. "About a year and a half ego I csngut a severe cold. My lungs bicauie inflamed, and my whole system was prostrated. Sjoa I showed all tbe eymptoms cf consumption. I was entirely disabled and unrit to attend to buEinees. I was in the care of cue of the beet known physicians in the city, aad one j of the nOht expensive ones. Bit physicians j could do little in ree-c.'iin? uiy cse. Tie , nearest they came to finding cnt what was! the matter with me wan when they told me j that if 1 had any bu&lness arfaira to settle to j see about it as early as pcsible, ai I coald t not lrtt lcnc. It wss understood at tbe store J tha: I mr.st die, and that my place woali i have to be supplied by somebody elss. My weight, which Lad been 137, ran down to 110. Yet I had a firm courage, with a sura hope that eon eliow or o'.her 1 would recover. "After 1 got rid of the doctors, who hd given me up to d:e, I got a litt e better aad wts able to dreg myself down to taest're. Acoufle of lady customers epoke time about Comptnnd Oxygen, and advised me to go to tbe New York office of Starke & Palen and tee Dr. Turner aooat it. I knew nothirg absut this remedy, but concuded to try ir, jest on a yeuture. Oa taking a few inhalations at Dr. Turner's ofüce I as s rprised at the effect on me. It seemed a light matter to inhale so-i. jthia which was wnhout teste or odor; but certainly it did me a great dal of good. My benefit begin at once. I ecou was ab'.e to walk up aad . Cown stairs. I took oce home treatoien which lasted me lor three month; ta-n I got a second. My anretite returned and my sleep was good. When I ti rat visited D:. Torr er 1 had not for months slept in a beJ. After taking the Oxygen awhile 1 began to enjoy refreshing sleep for twocr tbree hours at a tirxe; I could lie n btd and obtain rest aDd comfort by doicg $0. j '1 will here fay that 1 found great alvaatega in toe use 01 tue nope-piece mnaier for my catarrh. I inhaled directly throah ttie ncstrL's with the best effect. AyelLiwijh pulpy tecretion had been ciming both toa Eoee and throat. Toe effect ot the Compound Oxygen was to caue this to st.10, and with it tte pain and unpleasant sensatioas I had been feeling in mv bead. "Soju I found myeelf, to my i;ret delight, al'lHoaliecd to business &3 of oM. I wain with ease a few b'ocke every day, and that without experiencing any great sece of faUgie." Mr. C'.ark, do you atill continue tbe treatment or are you independent of it?" ' Once in a while if I have a slight return of threat trouble, I take a few inhalations, and with positive advantage. "Are yon, then, a be'iever in Campauud Oit ten as a restorer of health?" ' Believer? Why, yes; most thoroughly ai-d heartily. I can not say too much r r it. You can not wonder tha. I have Install confidence In tbe old eyotem. That's enough for me." Cumpcntd Oxygen is not ao experiment. It is tried and true. Hundreds of others give similar testimony to that of Mr. Ciark.
