The McOormlck 'Up and a-Comlng" - An Inviting Outlook for This Season A reporter of the Sentinel, while lo iirg through the headquarters of the McCor .Ick Harvesting Mschine Company, yest lav, saw evidence of much activity and pre miration for the coming season. From a co. versa tlon with Mr. J. B. Hey wood, the lee Jidr agent in charge of this department, it wai learned that a long lease had just been taken pn tbe buildings occupied by the firm, and an additional warehouse of magnificent proportions 8nd other important features will be introduced that will greatly add to thir business facilities. The business, under ih) present efficient manager, has increased tenfold under his energetic administration, and at eo time were the facilities equal to the in creasing demands of the growing basiaew. Last year (18S4) the sales amounted to about 3 000 machines. Mr. Heywood attributes this handsome Increase t: the superior merits of the McCormick machines and h:s able corps of assistants, the equal of whom be said he did not think are to be found in the employ of any other manufacturer of harvesting machines in the country. The offices at Nos. 1G7 and 1C9 are pleasant, cicnmcdious and admirably arranged. Here are book-keepers, a rapid s'enosrapher, typewriters, sbippipg and repair clerks, and the business being expedited by an able corps of warehousemen. Five men are regularly employed in making contracts and settlements with dealers, of which there are 130 representing the Mccormick machines in Indiana. "This year," said Mr. Heywood, "the McConuick intends to still further widen tbe gap betwren its competitors and the superb old harvester, and it will not eirpriae ma If some are shut out ol the race altogether."
