There being v.o appropriations for .'riate purjocs for the neit two year tlie approaching close cf tlie t'-scal jear has more or Jess interett connei ted with it, an J the officials are looking into the lavv tu so? what f u ri are available. In the cae of Circuit J edges, it is found that there Is not ittHiuient j money on hand to iay the quarter su'.ljry j falling due January I, and the Auditor is ia doubt as tc whether lie can nivet the payments. Tlie law fixing the salaries of Circuit Judjres is as follows: "Sec. 1,373: The salaries of the Judges of the Circuit Court in this State shall be ?2,.00 annually, to b; paid quarterly out of any moneys appropriated for su li purpose." It is noticeable that the law relating to the payment rf Supreme Court Judges is entirely di.'l'erefit, and makes their salaries "pavable quarterly out of any ? At I . I . 1 f.. - . I money s in me i rcasury twiougm? t me i peneral fund not otherwise sneoif.cally ap- ' tropriated by Jaw." From the di Cerent : worling of the two sections it is inferred that the Legislature did not provide for the ray- J inent of Circuit Judges in the event of the i failure of the general appropriation bill. It . is evident that this provision was made in the case of Supreme Judges A Sentinel reporter called upon Attorney Ceneral llord ! and asked his opinion upon tbe mortter, but j he replied that he had not investiirated the ; law, and it was a matter of too much un- i portance to treat without maturer ckliberu- i tion. This condition of affair is tlie result I of Lieutenant iovernor Jlanna's action lat j winter with reference tJ the appropriation i bill, In tl.elnterehl of vufl'ering Ilutnnitj. Smewbere for Iiis health, if he is wise,', interjected Dr. inrnett, who was present. "How are politics in Uhio, Judge" queried tbe reporter. "I know nothing more than everybody else does about politics, and less than many people. Hut thero is one thing that Democrats should keep in mind. While people are hunting around for outside causes for the result of the Ohio election, the real reason is lostsiht of. This, iu a nut-shell, ia that the people rre tired of the rule of tbe Republican party. That same cause m l carry Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. "How will the result affect the" Presidential election?" "As a matter of course, favorably." "And the Jnatprship?" "That I have nothing to say abönt, except that 1 am not candidate for that or any other place, except a quiet place to rest and enjov myself." "How do they feel in Ohio about the civil rights decision just rendered?" '1 don't know how others feel, but I ma le tbe longest speech I ever delivered in the ben ate against the bill, taking much the same ground the Court took. ; I am satisfied." Georgia is bound to distinguish herself among the States of the Union. She now comes to tbe front witn a two weeks old baby that weighs exactly one. and one quarter pounds, well and active. Georgia is thus great in little things. If the squall of this baby is in proportion to its size there will be a ceneral demand for them by the-get-and-bnnt-for-the paragoric father.
