An East-bonnd passenger train on tie New England r.iad collided this evecicg with a gravel train, a mile east of Plainville. - The engineer escaped. George Knickerboker, engineer of th. passenger train, remained at his post and reversed the engine, and was caught in the wreck. lie was horribly crushed and instantly killed. His bruther, the fireman, jumped and escaped. Charles W. Church, the express meergf r, nf Hartford, and Charles Uriswold, cf Walerbu-y, wera in the bag-gsge-car.
