General I m prrttiou Tlit It Will De Declared Constitutional by the Supreme So art. Coluxbi'S, June 10 It ehoald be understood that thera ia nothing in the rules or practice of the Supreme Court to prevent Judge Johnson tilting on the Scott Law, although he did not hear the arguments. Practically tne whole case will be submitted to the Court on briefs and reported speeches. The only two undresses made cutside of the briefs were by Messia. Hoadly and West, and tbeyweie both reported in shorthand, and will be printed for the use of the Court. Not only tbät, but the Court has allowed antil next Saturday for the presentation of additional briefs. It is thought that Jadgs Melivaine will write the opinion, aa he acted as Chief Justice pro tern. Of CCUrso all things are posäible to Providence and the Supreme Court; but there 19 almost a ucanimity in the' belief here, a mong Democrats as well a3 Republicans, that the law will be declared Constitutional. Democratic lawyers, who sat as hearers all through tie case, with prejudices and hooes all on one side, admit that the State hai D7 far tbe better of the argument. Even Judge Deadly as much as intimated that his blind opponent, Judge West, completely denial-i-hed the Cleveland contention of impairment of contracts. The State attorneys now eipress more confidence than before ihe argument that the law is all right. The Cincinnati falcon keepers left Columbus completely discouraged. They had not only become convinced that they were on the losin; fide, but they felt astonished at the temperance lecture of Jndge Hoadly. If the law is declared unconstitutional the saloon keepers acd their legal advisers will bs more a9tcnisled than tbe State attorneys will be. AT KEST.
