Cincinnati Enquirer. "Iowa has 240 brass bands." Now we understand the drift of a long editorial entitled "The Gloomy Outlook," which recently appeared In an Iowa paper. Ex. Thk Spanish court has put on mourning for three months, if you want to borrow money from Alphonso forward your request in a black-bordered envelope. ExchangeA Wkstkrs man named Damnel stopped his paper because its editor was so careful that when Damnel's name appeared in the paper It was published as D neL Oil City Derrick. "A OKB3CA5 scientist has been investigating the matter statistically, and finds that in the majority of cases the long livers have indulged in late hours." Exchange. Why a person who is blessed with a long liver should permit it to keep late hours, is a problem in physiology that we can't understand. And, besides, how does he know whether his liver is long or short? Anyhow, long or short, it Is a bad habit for a liver to be meandering oat at night, keeping late hours, and it owner should not . encourage it in such doings. He should lock it out some night, and let it snooze on the front stoop until morning. This would teach it a wholesome lesson. Norristown Herald.
. A Remarkable Case. Bhidgipobt, lnd., March 23, 1879. Mrs. E. Rohrkr Dear Madame: This is to -certify that about five years ago I had the measles, which left my syRteni very susceptible of taking cold on the least exposure. In -about three years rrom the time I had the measles, I took the lung fever and pleurisy, whicii settled on my longs. I grew worse, and had hemorrhage of the lungs frequent y; also -chills and pro) use night sweats, with a continual coughing and expectoration. I was fast '-on the decline up to November, 1877, when I was pronounced by my neighbors and all that ' -saw me to have the consumption, and so far advanced as to have little or no hope of recov- - erv. About this time I heard of your new remedy for the longs the great Oregon Cure and concluded to try It. For a f w days after -commencing the use of it, I could see no change, but soon after I began to improve, and could see s decided difference in ray health each day, until I fully recovered, which was about two months after I commenced tbe use of the medicine. 1 used about two doznn -bottles daring this time. My average weight is as much as it ever was; in fact, I am cured, and your remedy did the work, for which I will ever feel g ateful, and do strongly urge those who are likewise afflicted to use yoar valuable medicine without delay. Albert Morgan. Mr. Morgan reques's all who think the above statement exaggerated in tbe least to call or address him by letter, and be will cheerfully substantiate it, and he will also refer to other oases which be knows to have been cured by this great remedy. Manufactured by Mrs. K. Rohrer, 347 South Meridian st , Indianapolis.
The Evidence Sustains the Verdict. In courts of law it sometimes happens ,' ;.- that the guilty escape and the Innocent suffer. Bat, when tried by public opinion, such errors do not occur. For many years the family medicines manufactured .by K. V. Pierce, M. D., of Buffalo. N. Y., have been on trial. One after another the ingenious lies and slanders of rival manufacturers have been proved false, while positive evidence of merit from numberless invalids has gradually accumulated. The popular verdict of great merit is fully sustained by the evidence, as no remedy yet known equals the Golden Medical Discovery in curing throat, lung and blood diseases. If if the liver be "torpid" and the bowel irregn, lar, use the Pleasant Purgative Pellets.; For l full information, see the People's Common Sense Medical Adviser., .The cheapest medical work ever published, nearly 1,000 page?, illustrated by over 250 colored plates and
