. EBeeta or Perfame Health. We learn that an Italian professor has recently made some very agreeable medicinal researches resulting in the discovery that vegetable perfumes exercise a positively healthy ictiuence on the atmosphere, converting its oxygen into ozone, and thus increasing its oxidizing influence. The essences found to develop the largest quantity of ozone are those of cherry, laurel, clover, lavender, mint, juniper, lemon, fennel, and, bergamot; three tnat give it in smaller quantity are anise, nutmeg and thyme. The fiowers ot the narcissus, hyacinth, mignonette, heliotrope and lily of the valley develop ozone in closed vessels. Flowers destitute ot ' perfume do not develop it, and those which have but slight perfume develop it in small quantities. Reasoning from these facts, the professor recommends the cultivation of flowers in marshy districts, and in all places infested with animal emanations, on account of the powerful oxidizing influence of ozone.
" To Be or If ot to Be." It is a question or importance to all afflicted creatures, whether they will be cured ot disease by remedies which leave a long train of bad after effects, or by a medicine that strikes at the cause of the malady and eradicates it, without doing any more harm than th much water?. Clifford's Febrifnge, for the cure of all diseases caused by malaria, is a palatable, powerful antiperiodic and tonic, and yet never produces headache, noise in the ears, deafness, or any of the evils consequent on the use of quinine, arsenic, etc. J. C. Richardson, Prop'r, For sale by ail druggists. St. Louis. Bogns Certificates. It is no vile dragged stuff, pretending to be made of wonderful foreign roots, barks, etc., and puffed up by long bogus certificates of pretended miraculous cures, bat a simple, pure, effective medicine, made of well known valuable remedies, that furnishes its own certificates by its cures. We refer to Hop Bitters, the purest and best of medicines. See "Truths" and -Proverbs" in another col Gran. There is no difference of opinion among those who have tested Pond's Extract. Thousands, both in the United States and Europe, unite in giving this remedy the highest praise as a curative agent. Its power in arresting inflammatory diseases is almost miraculous, never failing to awake the grateful admiration of the afflicted. It can be said of thi3 great remedy that it can never injure the most sensitive or delicate organism. Send for little book of particulars to Pond's Extract company, 98 Maiden Lane, New York. Beware of imitations. Samuel R. James. A Card. A Card to the Public. We ask a careful reading and a though ful consideration of -what follows: It is now over years since a new cure for chronic diseases was discovered, known as "Compound Oxygen." The results which have followed its use up to this time have been so remarkable that It Is beginning to attract the widest attention. Many Intelligent physicians in various parts of the country have, after a careful investigation of its scientific and pathological claims, used it in esses where all other known remedies had failed, and with a success alike surprising to themselves and their patients. In Consumption, Catarrh, Asthma, Bronchitis, Headache, Dyspepsia, and the wide range of Neuralgic disorders from which so many suffer life-long tortures, It has rarely failed to give relief, and In many cases to make permanent cures. It is not a drug, but a new combination of the two elements which make up our oommon air, giving oxygen In excess. It la taken by inhalation, and cures by natural and ordei ly processes Hist, by eliminating the excess of carbon which has accumulated In the system, and, secondly, by a revitallzation of alt the great nervous centers. In order to glvo the public an opportunity to learn all about this new treatment, we have prepared a carefully written Treatise, in which is presented a history of the discovery of "Compound Oxygen," a statement of its scientific basis and mode of action, and large details of the results which have followed Its administration. This is sent tree by mall to any one who may desire to receive it. Address lira. (Stakkey A Palen, 1112 Glrard street, Philadelphia, Pa. . o Honesty la the Beat Policy. The remarkable popularity which the Lonsiana State Lottery Company has achieved by the integrity and fairness which have characterized all it operations, has created no lit tle astonishment. When the reader reflects, however, that the valuable franchises which the company have secured last for twenty-five years from the date of the incorporation in 1868, and for the security of which the inviola ble taith of the State of Louisiana is pledged to a contract upon which the State has already received nearly half a million of dollars, he will sea that here at least honesty Is the beet policy. The drawings will go on as usual for the next fifteen years. For any further Information, apply to M. A. Dauphin, P. O. box, 692, New Orleans, La. 0 , Mr. Isaiah T. I have been afflicted with Eczema or Halt Rheum on my scalp, breast and limbs for live years, during which time 1 have been under the treatment of physicians, or at mineral springs, or taking some kind of medicine.
