Msrui Weather Amnfn Infrfsi IheIpoDIencjr la tb Yellow Fever Infer ted Cltlew. Memphis, 8epL 21. The weather has turned warm again, which is favorable to , the spreading of the disease among those who remain well. Since last night John C. Niemann, Alex. W. McConnell and John W. Lewis' names appear among those who have died. Martin Griffin, cashier of the German national bank, was taken down this forenoon. This will not interfere with the business of the bank, as ex-Mayor John Johnson, superintendent of the Howard association nurses, has taken charge, and will keep the institution open. Theodore Hoist, the undertaker, is reported as dying. R. R. Catron's condition is quite unfavorable today. General Luke E. Wright, James Prestridge and D. F. Torter have charge of the business of the citizens' relief committee. Among the. convalescents seen on the streets to-day were Judge Archibald Wright and H Battenberp. The hope that had existed in the breasts of the living that the fever was abating has been dispelled by tne reports of to-day. At the Howard headquarters there has been one continual call for nurses, and the demand has given employment to many who were on the eve of departure for home, thinking their services wore no longer required. The board of health officially reports 64 deaths for the 21 hours .ending at G o'clock to-night. Of these, 22 were colored. This is a great increase as compared with the day previous, when only 33 were reported. leath has taken to-day from our midst Theodore Hoist, Mrs. Beok Pullen, Judge Charles Kortreicht and C. Brooks, only son of Will S. Brooks, of the Memphis Appeal. Mrs. Pullen died at Gill's station, two miles east of the city. Judge Kortreicht was elect- ' ed chancellor at the late August election by the national greenbackers. and was recognized as an able lawyer. He is an old resident of the city, and on the appearance of the lever had removed to Bartlett, Tenn., where he died to-day. Among the new cases reported this afternoon are Ed J. Carson, druggist in charge of Mansiie.d's drag store, William 1 Ionian, captain of police, the wile of Ir. Heber Jones. H. 8. Kin?, of the masonic relief board, ar.d II B. Clarke, treasurer of the citizens' relief committee. R K Catron, agent of the associated press in this city, died to night at 8 o'clock. A. D. Longstaff, president of the Howard association, wa seen on the streets to-day looking very feeble. A. R Droescher, sergeant at arras, Hiram W. Gage and F. P. Dunn are classed among the convalescents. A tug and barges have been secured to forward supplies contributed by the cities of Louisville and Nashville to Greenville, Mias. Dr. Luke P. Blackburn, of Louisville, will accompany the expedition, which departs Wednesday. Twentyfive physicians of the Howard medical corps report 156 new cases. AT NEW OELEA5S. New Obleahs, Sent. 23. Deaths, 4-1; cases reported, 134. Total cases to date, 7,972; deaths, 2,514. Captain Thomas Taylor, for merly matter of the steamboat Erie, died at Bay St. Louis on Saturday, of. fever. Dr. Cnoppin reports Dr. Kibbee convalescent. Drs. Wiley K. Fort, W. Ii. Mandeville and S. Hale have recovered from attacks of yellow fever. Colonel Hardee, state engineer and member of the board of health, is reported very low with the fever. HisterMary Elizabeth Burns, a native of Boston, died today of the fever. The mortuary report for tbe week ending San day evening at o'clock shows 00.3 deaths 512 whites and 61 colored, 384 mates and 219 females; yellow fever, 408; of which 338 were whites and 20 colored; other fevers, 5o; children under 10 years, 249; under 5 years, 2U0; natives of Louisiana, 281); other states, 84; balance foreigners. There were 15 deaths up to six o'clock, and 147 new cases reported. Of the latter, however, 53 date as far back as a week ago and more, while 94 date since Teptember 20. ije veri were at the St. Vincent infant orphan asylum, 12 at the Camp street female orphan asylum and 12 at the asylum for destitute boys, corner of St. Charles avenue and Dtifoss street. The following explains itself: . Jackson, M um., Sept. 23. To the Freemaoa and Odd Fellow of the United mates: In behalf of our afflicted brethren and their' famine In our fever Mrkelcen communities, and in behalf of hundreds of others wlio have been relieved by yoor timely and generous beneficence, I return you profound tbank- for the noble reonne that you have sent to our appeals fur help. I have thereby leen enabled to answer promptly every call from tbe 10 place In the state Where fever Is prevailing, and will) funds on hand and now coming will doubtless be able to meet every demand until the close of the epidemic. Should there tie any surplus It will be distributed km Judiciously an possible for the beueflt of hundreds of orphans bequeathed by the plague to lmporenxned commDnltlra. In their behalt I would still enll t your Kncrous Hrinpathjr. I am now obtaiDlns; UhU of families having special claims upon our care, so that none may be overlooked In the distribution. Have received to-day nearly S.j0,Urt), nearly .nil from mason and odd fellows. Indue time a full report of this good work, which it has been mypilvv liege to conduct, will be -given to the geneiou contributors and to the public. It will be a testimony to the goodness and gratitude of tbe huuiaa heart. (digued) J. H. POWIR, Oraud Secretary of Maon and Oram! Treasurer of Odd Ftl'ows. Cases reported to day to the Y. M. C. A., 87; to the Howards. 297. The Peabodys Issued 27,295 rations. Dr. Kibbcl's condition to night is not so favorable, and fear? are entertained of him. AT CREENVIXLE. Milwaukee, Wis , Sept. 23. Flea?e publish the following dispatches: The onefrom the general superintendent of the Western Union telegraph company explains why Greenville, Miss., is cut off from regular telegraphic communication, and relieves tbe Vickfcburg office of all responsibility in the matter. The dispatch from A. J3. Trig?, may or of Greenville, was the last heard from

that city. Mr. Trigg la reliable and responsible, and it is to be hoped his call for help will receive the attention it deserves: I Wrekstili-k, Miss , Sept. 17. a P. Huntington, Milwaukee: Need all the assistance we can get. Expenses very heavy and pestilence yet raging. (Signed) A. B. Taio. New York, Sept, 23. C.P.Huntington, Milwaukee: We are very short of help at VlcksDurg. Fllppen has been alone two weeks; but the princlp! difficulty In the way of doing the Greenville buslnes baa been the bad condition of the line. It will not work through, and the country people wi.l not let the repairer go through to repair the line. (Signed) JoitW VAX Horse. Greenville is located on the Mississippi river, x miles from New Orleans, and can only be relieved from thnt city by special boat. It is without railroad communication, and through boats will not land at infected towns. Tnough isolated and unable to make its wants known, it is to be hoped Greenville will receive sufficient aid to warrant the Howard association of New Orleans in sending another boat this week to Greenville with an additional supply of nurses and hospital stores. The majority of the inhabitants of Greenville, to the number of several thousand, are in the immediate neighborhood of the town, and it is greatly to be feared that the pestilence has spread into the surrounding country which is dependent on tbe town for doctors, nurses, medicine, ice and other assistance. Aid for the town of Greenville should be sent to the Howard association of New Orleans with instructions that it is for the relief of Greenville. The following are the names of a few of the p-r-sons who have recently died at Greenville: Judge N. J. Nelson, Aba Smith, old Mr. Morris, Columbus Heard, W. P. Kietchman, cashier, Miss Helen Finlay, Mrs. Hasberg, Ralph Marshall. Mrs. Kietchman and Nancy Hasberg are reported recovering. (Signed) C. P. Hcxtisotox. New Orleans, Sept 23. The Howards have a dispatch from Vickaburg announcing the arrival there of the steamer Blanche Porter, sent from New Orleans with doctors, nurses and supplies for Greenville, which point she will reach at 5 p. m. to-morrow. AT VICKSItCRO. Vicksbcro, Sept. 23. Weather clear and warm; light rain last night and early this morning; thermometer, 91. Six deaths on Sunday, and 130 new cases, among them Mother De Sales, of the conveut of Mercy. To-day 7 deaths are reported, one of them from the country. The Vicksburg Howard association will send, to-morrow, the steamer Kate Dickson tp Greenville, Miss.,coLY.5ing money contributions, ice, provisions, doctor and nurses. The fever has decreased so much here that visiting physicians and nur-ies are going to other points. Yellow fever Is reported at Delta, Louisiana, three miles below Vicksburg. President Rock wood, of the Howard association, is to night reported in a dangerous condition. Among the deaths to-day is Henry Loake, a member of the Howard association. Telegrams to-day from Delhi state the fever is decreasing there. Reports about yellow fever at Marysville, Mississippi, are untrue. Telegrams from there to day contradict the rumor. AT rLAVlt'EMINE. New Oklkaxs, Sept. 23. A letter from riaquemiue says: Total cases of yellow fever, 175; deaths to date, 65. The fever is now spreading in the rear of tbe town, causing distress and woe to the most humble. Even the colored people are taking down rapidly. Dr. Scwinge is recoveiing. Hel wt his brother and two children. The Howsrd association sent up with Dr. Magee 12 nurses, and the first week they were here live of tbem were taken down and one died. Several families had every one down, some as many as rive to ten. This is tbe most gloomy town I waa ever in. No work for the poor nor trade or business for the merchants. Every day looks like Sunday. God only knows what the poor would suffer bad it not been for the generous contributions which enabled the Howard association to come to their relief, as they have done for the third time. AT HOLLY SrRINUS. New Orleans, Sept. 23. The Howards have received the following: Holly Springs, Sept. 23. PJease send two more physicians, the nurss asked for last night, and ten or twelve more. Dr. Lilehaa tendered his service, and la on duty since tbe last dispatch. Thirty-two new cases and nine deaths. There are but six physicians on duty. Dr. Iwls was taken down this morning. Dr. Hegur Is strong enough for duty. Dr. Sheldon is doing well. Uovksiek, President Boird of Health. N AT BATOX ROUGE. New Orleans, Sept. 23 A Baton Rouge dispatch announces the death of Robert Wiseman, chief of police, by fever. Baton Rocge, Sept 23. New esses for the past 43 hours, ending at 9 a. m , 80. Deaths, 3. To'al cases to date, 789; deaths, 43. Application has been mad? to the Young Men's Christian association, by Colonel Holland, of Holly Spring, for two experienced clerks for the relief committee of that city.

We but echo the voice f the millions who have nsed it when we pronounce it the best hair dressing in the world. It stands unrivalled. Those who are affected with diseases of the scalp, accompanied with itching or irritation, find relief and renewal iu this invaluable remedy. When the hair is inclined to fall off, a moderate use of the Rcnewer will strengthen the roots of the hair and preserve it, and if it exhibits a tendency to turn gray it will restore the natural color.
