SOUTH RCSS1A. Oukhsa, March 28. Our corn market has continued in the same unsatislactory state. owing to the more and more complete exlianstion of stocks on the spot, from their In sufficient replenishment up to the present by anv fresh supplies from the interior. Conse quently prices, instead of relaxing, are now perceptibly hardening. Atter the holidays we may expect to receive more corsideraDie arrivals of wheat and other cereal articles. Polish and Sandomirca wheat, rye and oilseeds are completely wanting, and the market at Nico laletl is no better stocked than our own. In reviewing the market for the week the New York Daily Bulletin says: Matters have assumed a much more cheer f ul tone since our last review, with quite a pos itive gain made on values and a considerable increase of business in many articles or the hog product. I he complexion or the political situation in Europe has been very generally accepted as indicative of the early commencement of actual hostilities. and being accompanied by increased attention and purchases by shippers ol what may ie termed army supplies, has formed a basis for renewed confidence, which was great ly needed. A noticeable and healthy feature of the improvement, considering the stimu las obtained, has been the absence or unusual excite -uent. Speculation has very naturally obtained afresh impetus, and has increased In volume, witu neve and mere a "bull" to be found who thinks the time has come for the start whicii Is to give full recovery of the late Urvak. but this class of operators are the ex ception, and generally the manipulation of contracts nas as yet shown none or tne rapid tendencies whlck might be xpected on former experiences. A portion oi tue traue, too. are unwiiiinz to oe lieve that war is certain until they hear that fighting has actually commenced, and who nirtner taue ground mat, unless jngiana oe diawn into the conflict, the outlet for our salted meats will b found to run much smal ler than now calculated upon. '- Lard sold with greater freedom for immedi ate delivery than last week, and dealers were in somewhat better humor. At first the hardenins of values was nadnal and the dally ad vances apparently with difficulty maintained, but toward the close of last week and with the opening of this sellers had somewhat greater advantage, rne inquiry ior "spot ' iara came from rentiers in the main, yet there nas oeen two or three pretty full purchases made on very evident speculative account. The New York market Is reported excited. and the Bulletin of Monday says: Through the past week, which has been one of remarkable activity, the warlike reports and rumors from Europe and the influences thence arising, as reflected In the cable advices from the l-iondon and Liverpool markets, nave had most weight here in shaping, the course of trade in the oreadstun line, leading to an unusually urgent Inquiry for supplies of the principal kinds of flour and grain largely on export account, but to an important extent also on speculation, as well as to provide ior the legitimate wants of buyers for home use. Speculative dealings became a very prominent feature of the opeiations in corn and also of note In spring wheat, ana towards the close in flour. Prices were advanced materially right through the list on very moderate offerings, leaving off on Monday at about the highest E 'lints yet reached on a generally strong and uoyant market. Liast week s export clearances nence ror jüurooean ports Included 155 bbls flour. 321,888 du wneat, o.vi ou corn anu szi ou rye. me flour clearances included 10 pdis ior Liondon and l4- bbls for Glasgow. markets all giving extremely moderate ag gregates for this season is viewed as decided ly favorable to the Interests of holders, who appear remarkably firm and confident, and in no instance eager to realize at even tne very full rates nw obtainable. The grain market is giving evidence of vi tality, and corn has still further advanced, which is al?o firm at our quotations, Oats and rye are steady and unchanged. The following report of the foreign grain market is from the New York Dally Bulletin of Tuesday: FKAKCK. Paris. March 31. Ud to Tuesday evening the weather was very bad, with a continual fall of rain. Since Wednesday the showers have been less frequent. Yesterday was as fine as possible for the season, and to-day presents the same character. Farmers are in great want of dryer weather to bring to a favorable termination their March sowinss. which are generally behindhand, except on some of the ilztit and sandy soils in the central plains. Oats sowing is reported as somewhat forward, but not so with barley, and still less the potato and root crops. It is high time also to commence flax sowing In the northern provinces. It Li mush to be wished mat me rortncoraing raontn win bring more settled weather. . On the whole it mast be stated that the autumn sown cereals continue to look well. Some of the fields in the valley of the Saone nave, it is true, met with damage through inundations, in Aisne the wheat Is atlirmed to be a little discolored. and on some of the heavy soils In other dis tricts the plant has loht Its healthy, green appearance, Dut these are exceptions which do not affect the southeastern departments, where, on the contrary, the rain so eagerly desired for the last two months has appeared this se'n night to reanimate the power of veg etation. With respect to the grass lands thej are magnificent in aspect, especially in Berry, Marche, Limousin, Perigord, etc. Farmers have profited by the interval of sunshine during the last few days to make head with their Held work, and rrom this cause, combined with the religious observances, the mar ke's have been thinly attended, and a certain number, In fact, were partially deranged. Paris. April 3. ine wheat plant, wiiicn is beginning to suffer slightly In the low-lying districts from an excess of humidity, has been much Improved by the fine weather whicn has prevailed since last Wednesday, and farmers have equally taken Advantage of the sunshine to push forward their March sow ings. GERMANY. Hamburg. March 31. Business is ouiet. as usual during the easter holidays. Prices of wheat, however, remain firm, stock In general being light; fine heavy qualities particularly are scarce and command high prices. For barley there continues a fair demand, and all Earcels offering on reasonable terms find uyers. Hff.VGARY, Pesth. March 81. Tlie weather during the past s'nniKht has been tor the most part fine. and only interrupted now and again by pass ing rain snowers. rne temperature nas ranged between 55 and 66 deg. F., and was, on the whole, very favorable to vegetation. Spring work is almost generally completed, such as refers to potatoes, maize and rubsen, and up to the present time the condition of the cereal crops is satisfactory. In the corn market wheat has exhibited a very nrm tone, witn the manifestation of a good demand, and prices Improved on the week 20kr to 26kr for medium and 15kr to 20 kr for fine descriptions. Rye met witn a weak inquiry at unaiteied rates. MOROCCO. Advices from Gibraltar of the 2th ult. an nounce that It is feared that the crops In the interior of Tangiers.especially In the southern provinces, will lauon account of the drought which has prevailed for several weeks, and the price of wheat and other gram has risen 30 percent. urura casaoianca. under date or 23d ult., it is reported that there had been four days of welcome rain, which nad lust come in time, as t he growing crops had already begun to sutler through drought, but more is still wanted for the beans, and especially the peas and the maize crops.which are now begirding -i . . .,1 j to suoot out oi ine grounu. The produce markets are fairly active, with liberal receipts of butter, poultry and eggs. Prices are weaker. The New York Dally Bulletin of Monday says: nas been pretty well hammered during the whpk, probably more than was really neces sary. A little demand, due In part to the very unfavorable weather and quite full receipts. were tne main lnnuences loading to this re sult, and holders have offered with great freedom, especially as their advices led to the impression that the shipments from the Interior tended rathet toward an increase than a falling off.
