The opening of tbe campaign In Hancock county to-night was successful beyond our most sanguine expectations. Tne Hon. James F. McDowell made the opening speech, and though much indisposed his remarks were warmly received by his audience. His contrast of the two par ties was marked and well received, and he eluded with a peroration cot easily ex celled. He was followed by Janes J. Walsh of this place, in a maiden effort, which called forth enthusiastic applause at the close and will have a good effect In the final result.
