Zxtra div. COMMERCIAL. DurlDg the week ending to-day trade affairs have nndei gone no unfavorable changes. As a general thing, prices bave ruled steady. In some departments an advance has been established, and in none of the leading commodities has a decline been reported. The reports fiom the growing crops are as favorable as flould be expected. The wheat harvest is progressing satisfactorily and steadily, and the reapers are marching northward. The crop outlook is encouraging, and is having a good effect upon business generally. In this connection the Chicago Inter-Ocean of Monday sayp: It is advisable at the present time to watch the reports c.osely in regard to the prospects of the growing wheat crop. All kinds of ru mors are afloat from different sections of the West regarding the damage by storms and In sects, and it Is surmised that a fair percentage, at least, ot these representations are reported by parties iuterested in speculative move ments in tne market. A letter was received on 'Change to-day from Rush ford, Minnesota tbe bean or tne wheat district stating that the crop had been damaged slightly by tbe co. a ana wet weatner, out would recover, and that no Mgu of Hies of any description had ben feen In that vicinity. Ad vie-8 from Nebraska tat that tbe recent rains bave been of great benent to tbe growing crop. We have few changes of Importance to net 3 In prices of dry goods as compared with last wee 1. A fair trade for the season is repotted, and stocks in Indianapolis houses are kept up to (he highest point of excellence in regard to quality, styles and the various lines of goods. The New York Commercial Bulletin of Mon day reports as follows: The usual Saturday quiet was observed in the trade to-day, and business was com paratively light witn manufacturers agents and Jobbers alike. There 1, however, a much better feeling in tbe trale, and more confidence is felt in the nuliitenauce of valuta than for a long time past. Cotton coo is have been oulet in agents' bands, as Jobbers are about commencing stock-taking, and are only buying su h goods as are necessary for keeping up indispeusable assortments and mliDg orders. Cotton flannels are receiving some attention from roanufactu ers, and a lew orders for future delivery have been plareu " at value." The JobblDg distribution continues very fair for the time or year, and in bulk Is perhaps sllgntiy In excess oi the corresponding time in previous seasons. Prints. The print market has been gen era ly i.ulet, but Bag and decoration prints w re comparatively active, ana mere was a Heady demand for handkerchief prints. The Oriental Prltt Works have introduced a handkerchief print, on which is printed the "Declaration of Independence," kurr unded by ti e arms of the original thirteen states, etc l ne printing and engraving are admirably ex.cuted, and do credit to Ihe Oriental Works. Light and light medium lancy prints and fUurtd shirtlng8areJobblngin lair quantities, aud stocks are comparatively small In the nands 01 ooin ageats ana joDDers. Uingbams have been quiet In first hand, al though choice medium colorings are sil 1 in fair request. Agents' prices ae unchanged, aud tbe best mike of eiaples and fancies are Jobbing at a -ents' prices, although off styles are freely onerea at lower ngures. In tbe department of grain transactions of ltnpoitanca center in corn, for which theie has been daring the week a good shipping de mand and prices have ruled steady. Oats are dull with little inquiry, and prices are nomi nal. In wheat, trade is chiefly to supply the 1 jcal milling demand and prices have a wide range, so much so that it is difficult to give reliable qa stations. The visible supply of grain at twenty-one ot tbe principal points of accumulation June K amounted to 10,319,180 bushels wheat, 7,557,0 17 bushels corn, 3,44 i.46 bushels oats, and 516,5s6 bushels of barley, which la a better showing than for the corresponding week in 1875. This large accumulation of grain, together with tbe fact that large quantities of the crop of '75 aie still in the hands of farmers and at small in terior points, leads to the conclusion that prices are not likely to advance materially aad this view of the situation is strengthened by tbe more pacific lntelllg-noe from Europe, as also from the prospect of large crops daring tne current year, here and In Europe. The provision market during the week has ruled steady, and the fluctuations in values has been confined within a narrow range, the tendency be ng towards a hlgber range r.f values. Holders have not been disposed to make concessions, believing tbat the legitimate foreign and home demand will be largely in excess of stocks, and tbat tbe season will close with values considerably above present figure. 80 far those who have held on to their stocks have made money by their fear less policy, and are inclined to maintain their flrmess to the end. In groceries we have only to note that a fair tride has been transacted and that an ad vance in coffee has been es'ab'isbed. 8ugars I are dim, with an upward tendency anda good demand. In regard to the coffee trade the New York bhlppic List of recent date says: 1 With an improved distributing demand. there contiu. r.b. irqulry J -r Brazil coffee Xrom dealers whose stoca. hare run low, or
whos supplies are ill-asorted, but tbe bffls gen rally, though pretty full, are nevertheless below tbe strong views of holders, and there has been very litt'e business, it will be seen by tbe figures at foot tbat tbe stock at tbe port and tbe visible supply is unusually Isrge lor tbls period of tbe teason, with tbe new crop also not far distant, but prices In tbe . primary markets are telegraphed firm, and seem to be hardening, which, with the known fact tbat supplies la jobbers' hands throughout the country are exceptionally light, and as their wants must be supplied sooner or later, baa contributed largely to the present confidence exhibited by tbe holding interest. Quotations now are ratber below the market than otherwise, it b-lrg difficult to buy at tbem, and alike difficult to establish an advance while buyers hold off, The jobbing demand, as noted above, has quickened somewhat, but it is met at the previous currency, with perhansashade biaber prices obtained for tbe lower grades; indeed, it is stated that coffee can be ixubt cheaper now from secord than from first bands, and dealers find it not easy to get back a new dollar for an old one. Tbe only sale has been 6,oou bags strict fair Kio, ex J. L. Pendergast, at 17 cents gold. We quote:

The New York Commercial Bulletin of Monday refers to the markets as follows: Butter Holders are in a somewhat dubious frame of mind apparently. Prices during the week bave undergone no very decided shading, tbe accumulation of supplies on b ard Is comparatively moderate, and the condition of many parcels such as to Insure its Seeping fairly. Yet, on tbe other hand, the inquiry has lacked spirit and volume fufiicieni to afford a pood stimulus, and within a few days buyers were enabled to secure a great many little advantages, and tbe tone throughout haa become slack. It seems to many, therefore, that UDless receipts fall off very materially during the coming week prices will have to be marked down al: around, though a fair demand is anticipated, as many buyers will want to lay in stock te carry them over tbe holiday period.
