Wheat tili ic active and la generally of a poor quality and the stock on hand limited. Oats remains unchanged, the demand and offerings being light. Rye qalet and nominal. The movement of corn for the week shows an Increase over last week, but prices remain Just as stiff and firm. With improved roads ;in the country heavier receipts are looked for, and a lively aovement will bs witnessed in min lines which have previously been In dull condition. DRY OO0D3. The trade for the week has been filr and the prospect Is good ahead. Dealers look for a heavy trade not many dya hence. GROCERIES. There was a moderately active demand f r staple and fancy goods and the fluctuations which the market baa undergone axe Tew. Borne of the wholesale houses report bu'lness active and good, while others say that it Is only moderate. Prices are steady on staple goods. Offes are strong and firm, bat sugars have gone c higher on all grades. Dried fraits are active and arm at prices quoted. S;rups and molasses are steady and nnchang d. COU3TRY PRODUCE. There is somewhat of a break down in the Eastern butter market, which does not at all help the West. Most of ihe stock arriving here has no value hardly above lard. HoweverBudd A Co. receive occasionally a few kegs of a good article, bat the supply Is not In any way abundant. Eggs are steady and have not changed Curing the week. The receipts nave been liberal. Poultry active, chlrkeas commanding from $3 004 0J per dozen, and live turkeys lCc per pound. PROVISIONS. Operations have been very slight for the past week, and sales, both spot and future, have been few. REVIEW OF THE HOME MARKET. Tuesday Evening, April 4. Basin ess continues dall on 'Change and but few sales are transacted. Cojmisheld at firm figures, and there will probably be no change In quotations, until the roads are in good condition. There is any amount of corn throughout Il.inols, awaiting shipment, as farmers are almost compelled to ell. Provisions aie dull, none changing hands and buyers and sellers apart.
