FINANCE AND BUSINESS. WEEKLY MARKET REVIEW. Tu ksd at Evxnijig, March 21, 1876. Business throughout the week has been somewhat irregular, some days being pretty brisk and others Just the reverse. The rain and bal weather which has prevailed for the last few days has done mach to retard a lively spring trade, which was Just opening p. Railroad trafflo at this point has not been go brisk as it usually is and a decrease in the receipt and shipments of this week as compared with the previous one may be seen by the following statement: RAILB0AD COMMERCE. Receipt or the week jnlng March 18, u:t: Flour, bb 13,800 Wheat, Corn, b n.soj 86.0 0 Oats.b 63.300 6,800 8,a;o 4,005 Rye, bu Barley, Hoes.... Shiair Vts for the week ending March 18,1876: Flour; rftA. H.a Wheat, ba 7-2 Corn, bu ......... -c"' Oats, bu. H'lVi Rye, bu.. Barley, bu FLOUR AND WHEAT. There is no change in flour at all, it remain ing quiet and there being scarcely any order demand. What is sold is to eonsumers here at home, and is of the best brand. Wheat is still inactlv and Is generally of poor quality. Borne wheat is brought to this point from Michigan and Kansas, but precious little, from the fact that flour can be shipped in, made from the name kind of wheat, and sold cheaper than the flour made from the wheat shipped here and ground. OATS AND BTB. There Is very seldom any demand for these oereals. Oats are quiet at 8340o for white and 33335c for mixed. Rye is nominal atö0&70c. DRY GOODS. The trade during the week has been rather quiet with steady sales. The bad weather did much toward preventing any marked degree of activity, and as a consequence no heavy sales were made . GROCERIES. Trade in this line of business has been pretty good during the past week, both In staple and fancy goois. Coffees have taken an upward turn in the East which, no doubt, will have a marked influence on tbejmarket at this point. There Is no decided change here as yet, but coffees are considered very firm. Sugars are firm and unchanged. CQR2. The corn market has been decidedly Arm the entire week and at present is higher and very firm. The stock la store Is gradually dwindling down to almost nothing and good sound corn is hard to get. This cereal will bring 44c lor high mixed and 43c for mixed f. o. b. and there la a good demand for a sound, dry article. Rejected high mixed in color will command as high a price as 42o T. o. b. HOGS AND PROVISIONS. Hogs have not undergone any change during the week, and are active and firm with a gooddemamd. Provisions are stronger and firmly held. S, P. Hams are offered at 13o, cash; clear rib offered at 12o cash, April 12c, and May 12c; D. B. shoulders are offered at Sftc cash, April 9o and May 9ic But few sales have been made during the week. ' PRODUCE. The market remains about as it - was last week, there being no material changes to note. Eggs are still received In large quantities and are steady, but if such cold weather continues to any great length, an advance in the quotations of hen fruit may be looked for. Butter is scarce and firm. A first-rate article la in good demand at 2l&l4c. Most of the butter marketed is of poor quality and is hard to sell at any figures. REVIEW OP THE HOME MARKET. Tuesday Evening, March 21. There was considerable activity manifested to-day on call in the way of bids and oflers, bat no sales were effected except in the provision line. Corn is very firm and there is not much In the market. High mixed is In good demand At4S341Xc Provisions are steady and there are no material changes to note. Produce quiet. Eggs are not' coming In In auch quantities as previously on account of the dlsazreeable weather, but there are no changes. Groceries steady. Coffees are perhaps c higher, and sugar firm. BAUS.
