PROSPECTS FOB CORN AND ntXH. Tea New York Bulletin, Oct. 23, say: Rports from 214 points la Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio and Indiana, the great corn aud hog producing State., seem to confirm opinions previously published indicating a docrease la boss and a fair crop of corn. In the majoniy ot instances the number of bog reported is considerably less than at this time last year, as continued by theoilicialreport3ol the several State auditor. Tber ! but little doubt as to there beim: fewer bogs in the country than at this tuna hurt season. In almost all sections of the country hogs are reported in poor condition, owing to tbe scarcity of old corn. In Canada, it is also said there will be a slight falling off in the number. The corn crop, according to latest estimates, will bo a fair one, but as there is very ' littlo of last year's corn now on hand, and as the market price is fully 10O per cent, higher than in 1873,1 seems probable that the farmers will sell their hogs early in tbe season, in order to realize better value for their corn. THE CO XL TRADE EAST. The Poitsville Miner, October 23, eays: The quantity sent for tbe last week by rail was 130,184 tons; by canal, 22,527 for the -week, 152,711 tons, gainst H7,05ü for the cor

responding period last year. Increase, 35,655 tons. The supply sent from all the regions was 4'.K).(J32 tons anthracite, and 76,534 tons bituminous for the week, 567.0C6 tons, against 540.501 tons for the corresponding week last year. Increase, 20,905 tons. The supplv from all the regions so far this year Is 17,553,521 tons, against 13,70859 tons to corresponding period last year. Decrease, so far this year, 1,214,735 ton, of which 1,254,743 tons were anthracite. For the week tbe anthracite trade exceeded tbe quantity sent for tbe corresponding week last vear, 36,339 tons, while the bituminous 'trade lell off 9,364 tons for the week. Tbe companies have declared an average advance of 15 cents per ton for the month of November. This is the last advance that will be made by the associated companies this season, and the prices ol coal on board vessels at the shipping ports will remain at these rate until tbe new programme is made lor next year's business, therefore, arter the 1st of November the output will be in accordance w 1th the demand required by the market.

was James Deavin. The bloody sceno was
