1MPOIITANT TO I'ARItlEIlS And. all others who hare Stock to feed!! IT is conceded by every one who has made the experiment, that cat straw, with braa or meal, is tha cheapest aad best feed for borses and eattle. The great difficulty, heretofore, has been to get a machine by which straw ceold be cut with rapidity and ease. Many machines have been tried, bat most of them have been too complicated and expensive for general use. The great consideration has been to get a
machine simple ia its construction, to that it would seldom get out of repair, and to bo durable, and to cut easy. All those objects have been accomplished by the recent invention ol Mr. Smith, of Richmond. Virginia. Wherever it hat been used, it it acknowledged to be superior to all others ever used. It has been but recently introduced into this State, but those that have ased are highly pleased with them. Mr. P. Campbell, the proprietor of all the principal mail routes in this ft ate, has bad several in nie at different Staads, aad has given the following statement as to their performance : " 'Smith's Patent Stress Cutter' has been nsed a few months in our stable in this city, and at different stations oa onr mail routes, and we caa safely say that they have performed much better than any other machine ased by as. Its construction is so simple and subs antial that it is seldom out of repair. We would mach rather have t than aay other machine within our knowledge.
Wester 8tag Compakt, per P. Campbell. IndUnapolU, jtug. 8, 1850." The following statement it alto gives by gentlemen who have ased the machine : "We are satisfied that II. M. Smith's Patent Straw Cutter is superior to any other Cutting Box within onr knowledge. Its construction it such at warrants at in taying that it will seldom get oat of rerair, and it as durable as aay machine for the purpose caa be. 8. Milvim, JoHB M. Wood, J no. . Focdbay, Wm. The Machine can be examined at the Livery Stablet of Messrs.
