The suit for slander brought by the Rev. John C. The slander spoken of was spoken by Mrs. Pierce, who stated that Green took her daughter to the Museum, soon after her marriage, and when they left there tried to induce her to accompany hi in to a house of aseigottion. The Benton Democrats had a funeral procession at St. Louis, on Monday last, to bury the Anti Test' and "National Reform Parties." There were several hundred persons in the procession, and it wts preceded by a band of music playing a solemn march. An inquet was held over the body and a verdict given that the deceased came to his death by congestion, caused by the oe vf intoxicating drinks.
