Alter tendering his thanks for the honor the convention had seen proper to confer upon him, he adverted to the greal principles had in view by the democratic party and the necessity of the (lib congressional district carrying them out he fondly hoped that the convention would elect a man who could carry the banner of the democratic party aloft, a:.d who would not suffer it to be sullied by those who are enemies of our principles and of what we believe to bo the great interest of the people at large. On motion of Dr. XV. C. Foster, it ws Resolctd, That a committee of one from each county be appointed to apportion the votes each county khotild be entitled to, allowing one vote for every 100 democratic votes in each and every county cast by the democrats at the list Presidential efeetiori and one vote fr every fraction over fifty and that each delegation appoint one of their number f-r that purpose.
