A frightful accident happened about 2:30 this afternoon, at the Grand Trunk crossing of the Holden Read, resulting in the death of Elijah Smith and wife, who were attempting to drive across the track. It seems two trains were coming in opposite directions. Smith had his eye on the Ray City train and failed to tea tbe Grand Trunk train or hear its an proash until too late to save himself. Louis, Mo., May 21. Thebronz statue of General Frank P. Blair, which was eel up in Forest Park some days ago, was unveiled this afternoon in the presence of over 10,000 people. The procession, which formed on Union avenue and marched to the park, was very long, and was composed of a bittallon of United States cavalry, the First Regiment of State militia, all the local posts of the G.
