Haines, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, at tbe church parlors last night. A large number of the members of the congregation was present, and a very pleasant evening was spent while the nevv pastor was forming the acquaintance of the members of his congregation. Ths church pews are not to be rented this year, tbe trustees having decided to rai&e all unnecessary funds by snbecription. The pews, however, are left for selection as heretofore, and the Indicaticcs are that there will be no decreass in the attendance on th iervices. A New Hospital. Tbe old Ray House property of South and Delaware streets has been purchased by the Sisters of St. Vincent's Hospital, and they propose to erect a hospital to cost from COO to $100,000. When the building is completed the present hospital on East and Vermont streets will be turned to other uses. The new site has been selcc'ed with a view of convenience to the railroads, where most of the serious accidents occur, and, also, with a view to obtaining the best possible sewer connecticn. A fair will be held next month to raise funds for the enterprise. Christian Church S. S. Convention. Tha Stale Sanday-school Association of tbe Christian Church met yesterday in this city, L. Im Carpenter and Captain A. M. Atkinson, of Wnbash; Jadgo Franklin Spencer and A. C. Sbortridge, Elder Van Buskirk and J. M. Gramwell. of this city, being present.
