Their Condition as Compared With the Same Period Last Year, The Indiana Farmer will this week cdetain an exhaustive resume of the cropj in this and other States, from reports gathered by men employed specially for that purpose, and from these the Sentinel is enabled to give the following estimates: The wheat plant is very hardy, and unless the roots were broken by the freezing there is a possibility for a better rop than cow appears. From tables compiled by the Fanner it appears that the lowest condition for wheat in Indiana ia .n tre Bootbern division, while in the Central it is better, aud in the Northern the best, like coEditions, prevail in in the ema lections of Onio and Illinois. The per cent. of wheat sown is and the condition ',s. Last year at same date crop coaru was '.5, condition bf. The condition of clover s placed at 7s, and timothy at !)1 per cent.. beinc a higher condition than was reported at this time last yeir. For apples the condition is reported at TS, and peaches at 41, but only a few counties reported peaches at all, and these in the southern division. Under the condition of live stock the per cent, is reckoned at nearly the came as at the correpondirgdate last year, horses being so, cattle V,), hogs 'M. and sheep J'2 per cent. The Department of Agriculture at Washington hss reports to the etTect that there is about :;0 per cent of lait year's wheat crop yet in farmers' hands, being a greater amount than at the eaine date last year. The Farmer findo that this is true in eome localities, but the per cent, is much lees in others, there being very little difference between this year and last at the tame date. Aeaaultod and Robbed. Peter Bawics, a farmer, residing just south of Amity, Johnson County, came to this city on Saturday aud collected $180 for sorghum molasses which he had chipped here and sold during the past eeason.
