Neither mental nor physical labor can be accomplished satisfactorily unless the system is in order. When you feel tired, languid, weeried without exertion, the mind elo to act, and requiring great mental effort, joa can rest assured that your Liver is not actir properly, and that nature requires as8''sance to help throw off impurities. There is no remedy that will accomplish th s 30 mildly and yet effectually as Päickly Ash I'.iTTEFS. A trial will satisfy you of iu merits. World' Exposition. New Orleans, March -J The greatest and most useful show the world ever saw I as only two months more to be visited and tndif d by the people of Europe and Ameri ce. No thinking man or woman can go through the government and main building and make anything like an intelligent examination of the various articles on exhibition without getting useful information and suggestions that my lead to future proSt or advantage in some way. The men who devote their energies and rrental activities in devisirg, directing and developing such grand, practical and utilitarian echiola ought to be, and will be, held in the highest esteem and admiration. About the only thing that rell-cts great credit on the life end character of Prince Albert is the fact that he inaugurated the World's Fair ot London. The time will come when ths name of tha man who planned and by his untiring energy and executive ability developed this monster fair into its present grand proportions will be placed away high up en the temple of fame and he will be recognized aa a trus friend of human progress and a higher civilization. But like most of the men of past ages who have devoted their hearts, minds and activity to the great work of belteria? humanity. Major E. A. Barke, who ia tae real and main p-ower in this great enterprise, is being subjected to many annoyance! and unjust criticisms that narrow-minded and unthinking men can bring forward. With inadequate mea'ns -e has at last triumphed over all obstacles and brought the Exposition to a grand success in everything that certains to ita mala objects a display of the world's products, and bringing together the representative men and women of all nations to study each other's methods in the great work of transformirg nature's crude resources and powers into that which is better calculated to meet the important and essential demands o! our existence. This is CHAUTAUQUA DAY, which is intended to present the workings of a Dew educational enterprise which was inaugurated at Lake Chautauqua, in Ne? York, a few j ears ago, and which has rapidly gained a stronghold on the confidence and affections of the people where it is known. Tranches of the school are being established in the Southern and other States. The one at Lake de Funiak in Florida is prospering, aho the at Mont Eagle, Tenn. The main object of the movement is to enable b)ys and girls as well as men and women to get a good substantial and even a higher education at home by their own firesides at comparatively a trifling expense. It also very appropriately ;comblnes and earnest and effective teaching of the principles of the Christian religion with the knowledge to be obtained from the study of the text bsok of our schools. They claim that the Institution is "first for busy men and busy wemeninabusy age; second, , that tht object of Chautauqua Is to make strong, pure
Christian home where children can b latntd not only in morals, bat ia science Ld patriotism." This is certainly a graa J!y iced work, and will doubtless mska mtny American homes better, pnrer and happ'er. By referring to the paces of history we find that civilization has been developed not b? KiEgs. Queens, potentates and nig'a governmental authorises (for these have gBnerailv f roved obstruction), but by the bard workug tndents of nature's laws, by the in vector's genius, by the great elaf&tors in pure, moral science, ph;lr;opby, sentiment, history, niechnnic. rgrcuhnre and fine arts.
