As we have before remarked, th5 comedians are especially f.tted by nature, for the leading rolep, end the inimitable humor and drollery with which their every word and action abounds puts them at once en rapport with tbeir audience. As "Cutter Bnarp." the rcan of nerve, stock exchange broker, etc., L'r. Bobssn ia tiro ply inimitabla. His every word, lcok and action is as ori?ind as it is ccmlcal. while ll'tre h a thoroughness of rr.e tbed aDd canjcitnticns tr?atrcp.r.t ia all Ibat le dees that bespeaks the artist. His parlner, Mr. Crane, as "Dallstone Fiat." ex parEon, bull, bf ar and blood, although the opposite in methods, is none the less an artist. Ue ih, perhaps, the best lowcomedian on the American etae to day, his humor beiDg of the ucctious kind that keeps an audience in the throes of laughter ail the time he holds the stage. Their supporting company i3 a thoroughly campetent one. Mr. Charles S. Dickson as "Captain Eyerton" invested tho role with a manly dignity and grace, and spofce his lines naturally, neither overacting nor playing with too much reserve, as have some of his predeceisors. 31 r. W. G. Beach was satisfactory as "Bev. Percy Gosling," though be t bowed a slight tendency at times to read his lines in a declamatory manner that might le advantageously orercome. Mr. Ogden'a "John Pemoerton" was well done, as were also all the minor mals partJ. Mm Hs die Bif-'ftlow lookfd and acted the prt of Marina" very cleverly, while M:?3 Flora May Henry, in tbn dashing and, therefore, somewhat difficult role of "ilr?. Thi- young lady is lapldly c'.icibins; the histrionic ladder, and her many frienda here will watch her career with unabated interest. Miss Mirgarite Pierce made a pleasing "Ne.lie," while Mr?. The entire series of performances are for the benefit of the Indianapolis Light Infantry, and should be largely patronized. NOTES.
