Appears at Plymouth Churcla, In a Very Creditable Entertainment. The fourth entertainment of the Indianapolis lecture course wa3 give& at Plymouth Church last evening, by the Levy Concert Company. All the teats in the audltsjrium were taken before 7 :G0 o'clock, and when the entertainment opened the gallery was tolerably well tilled. The entertainments of the h cture course have come to be regarded a3 furnishing aa evening cf rt;d eajoyment, ami tbe one of last night was in no sena a exception, and the large and int elligent andier ce that assembled on the occasion was rr ore than repaid for the inconvenience and dis-cem'ort qf leaving home on a bleak, wintry evening. In the rendit'on of "Mon Pia Audral Le Nczze Ci Fi:aro" and "P.ocked in the, Cradle of tb Deep," Mr. Edward O'Mahonv delighted the audience, and was again and a?aia brought back upon the stage by apE lause. Mr. Constantino Sternberg proved imeelf a perfect master of the piaDotorte, and while seated at the instrument there was a death-like hush throughout the audience, making the lowe3t touej ot the piano perfectly audible. Miss OJ lie Torbett's violin solos were decidedly ths favorites of the entertainment, and the laiy herself formed no small part of tbeir attractions. The "Scene de Ballet" and "Scher zccapriccioso'' were given with a perfection of beauty that astonished while it captivated tue audience. Miss Torbett's second appearance was greeted with bursts of cpplause, and fche received many wellmerited compliments from her attentive listener?. She was encored till she appeared a third time upon the Etage. Mr. Jules Levy appeared in two cornet solo?, and Miss S'ella Costa in the descriptive ballad, ' Waiting," and also in the sorg, iIt wm a Dream." Bjth Mr. Levy and Mi&? CosUi added materially to the enjoyrcent of the evening, and like their pradtctticre, were hfartily applauded. The Lyra Social. Lsst nicht the Lyra Society gave its New Year entertainment. The house wascrowde I to its utmost capacity, there being not less than ZOO couples present. At 12 o'clock 4 Old Father Time." in the person of Au;n?t Gotto, appeared upon the stage, and with his gong founded the houref 1J, thusannoancing that the old year was dead and the new year W9S begun. Thi3 was followed by a beautiful tracsformation ecene, it being the rep resentation of the New Year being awakened into life by the Prince, the scene being the representation of a familiar German legend. Mis Nora Schmidt represented the New Year, she being found lying upon a couch of white, ornamented with dowers and attended byanncibjrof darfs in lull costume. The Prince approached, took her by the hand and kijsed it, which wcke her into life, the Prince being represented by Henry Kothe. This was followed by a tableau with colored lights. Tbe scene was very similar to the English Ldrystoryof "The. sleeping Beauty." The arrangement of the entertainment was the result of the labors of Mr. Charles Kraas9, who has for several years supplied many of the needs cf the society, and who is never at a loss for material to render the society entertainments pleasant in every particular. The representation was furnished with a back;proutd ecene of a chexub wit!i a wand bearing the figures o! ths New Year, above which were the usual greetings cf "Welcome, a Happy New Year." TLe bouse was sa completely surprised the scece.tbat it was some seconds before th9 applause could ba given. The dmcia waa kept up to a late haar this morning. A Violent Death.
