A letter from a gentleman at Wellsburgh Brooke Country, Va. to the editor of the Reporter, dated March 2d, 1820, says--"I am just returned from the ruins of the glass house at this place --It took fire this morning about 8 o'clock and the whole extensive buildings and materials are entirely consumed, except the floor of the main building, & that was saved by its being overlaid with brick and the exertions of the citizens in throwing water on it. It is said it took fire from the pipe of the stove that was in one of the buildings. "Last evening col. Marshal's mill took fire on the roof, supposed to be from sparks from the chimney--very little damage was done--say 3 or 400 shingles burned--the building was saved by the exertions of a few hands--the fire was extinguished helore the people from this town reached the mill. Wm. B. Benefiel John Roberts & Wm. Slater. 24 dollars In the above cause an attachment was issued by the plaintiff against the goods, chattels, rights, credits, moneys and effects of the defendants, and set for trial the 1st day of May, 1820, before me, where those concerned will take notice and It tend.
