Clandestine Bank Bills. PUBLIC notice is hcrebygiveri, that whereas, heretofore, a company had been formed for the establishment of a bank at Bloom-, sneville, in the county of Huron, Ohio; a number of shareshad been sold, on part of which five per 4 cent, (being the -first instal-. Lnt)'had been paid ; the Pl and paper for the said bank bill, had been procured, with an id crant impression, entitled 1 he Bank of Sandusky Bay a banking house had been erected, and all other measures had been taken to carry said banking institution into effect on honorable principles provided a charter could be obtained from the legislature of the cMtr. But in consequence of the

company having failed to obtain a charter, they convened on the last Friday of February last and went into a resolution to dissolve the association and to close their business , proceeded to sell their paper, plates, bo jks, stationary, &c. and adopted measures to dispose of the banking house, together with all the materials pro- - vided ; and to make a final and conclusive close of the business. And whereas it has lately been discovered that a highly improper and dishonorable use has been made of said paper, in express violation of the terms on which it was sold to the purchaser ; the object, therefore, of this notice, 13 to caution and to warn the public against the receipt of that paper; to apprize them that k has i r n clandistinely smuggled into circulation by a combination of th: most abandoned and profligate swindlers, without the faintest trace of regularity in their operations, or the least color oi authority (or their proceedings. These clandestine bills, purporting to be bills of the Bank of Sandusky Bay, are executed with the signature of A. YOUNG, Cash'r. and A. RANSOM and A. C. RANSOM, Pres't. They are made payable to J. Strong, F. Falley, T. S. Smith, E. Cook,m& others ; and it is well ascertained that several of the villians concerned have lately left this place for the southern country with large quantities of those bills, and also with a quantity of the blank paper for the purpose of execution and circulation as their pleasure may dictate. Several of the swindlcrs are now under arrest. Every exertion is makingto suppress, as far as possible, the further circulation of their bills. And the subscribers are enabled to assure the public from the best authority, that the said paper was sold with the express understanding that it should not be made use of for any dishonorable purpose, either to the injury of individuals or the public and to absolve the said company from every unworthy imputation in the sale of the said paper.
