ate there have been 3000 ded and condemned in connee of what has been above d ar. There has been near0 consumed here in segars, There are now on hand, of alities, for sale 3000, and ilids, expected from above. 5 is now no demand for this or very little, except for prime qualities indeed, while descriptions remain a dead Ion hand at our lowest quois. ur Of this article we have ;ed (agreeably to the inspecf books; upwards of 145,000 J's up to the present date, fhipments, agreeably to the jn from the Custom-House h up to the 1st inst. amount fjooo since then about 5000 I un have been shipped. The Jinption of the city and the ly all around, during the j period, will amount to about Jty referring to the inspector's Is tins morning we find that Fc heen reinstated; and that f are absolutely condemned.

24,000. Small shipments to various parts of the interior unnoticed by the Custom-House, about 2000. The remaining 34,00 are thought to be distributed as follows: In the hands of the Bikers, 3000 In that of the merchants, 31,000 Of which overwhelm, ing stock 23,000 has been teceived since the istof the month an unprecedented quantity for tiiis season of the year; threefourths of which must ineVitably spoil if not shortly exported, of which we sec little or no prospect. There is no demand whatever for it, except for our daily consumption, which may amount at this season of the year to about 100 barrels. Some sales of shipping Flour have been eiTected at 8 dollars per barrel, and before two weeks (if it is at all forced upon the market; we fear it will be reduced still lower. We are retailing best Bakers flour at from 9 to 10 dollars. Pork. This article, although scarce, is not in very brisk demand at our quotations. The qualities now on hand are not good, and have been badly put up Great pains ought to be taken with this article, while nine times out of ten it would pay well for the trouble. Lard. This article has got up to 22 cents for prime quality;

winie that badly handled and thin will not bring 13 cents. Here then is a striking instance where the caretul man is amply rewarded for his trouble. Hams and Bacon. Have declined, owing to an immense quantity arriving, and ihe lateness of the reason. 1 hese articles should never come here later than April. Whiskey, Is duil at 75 cents per

gallon, although n is not very plenty, but in consequence of a rail in the price 01 common rum. Sugar. Of the cane crops nothing positive can yet be said. That remaining now 011 hand sells at 12 and 14 cents, althoug'i slowly. The quantity remaining in the country is not much. Notwithstanding we do not apprehend any advance in price. Coffee. The quantity of this article on hand is not large; although it has not augmented in price; owing to the limited demand at this season. Wines. Of all descriptions are scaicer than they have been, although they have not advanced in price. A small addition to the stock on hand would make them decline. Brandy & Jamaica Rum. Have fallen and are now quite plenty. The former adolls. & 2, 75 cts. per gallon; the latter 1 doll, a 1 50 cts. per gallon: 1 doll. 2 ? a i 50 cts. per gallon, 4th proof. Cotton. lias been on the decline, and there is litde or no demand for it at our present quotations; but as every thing depends on the quality of this article, the planters cannot be too careful, and are now amply rewarded for their care and attention by the great difference made in the price. We have ascertained that 50,000 bales have been shipped bince the commencement of .the season, including all descriptions and from all quarters. There are said to be about 5000
