Jiserics and calamities which pmpatriots suffer under the j Ferdinand. I love my !ry, but I despise its king jts tyranical laws. Under considerations I have abanJ every thing that I have as ,niard, and I have sworn on ars of the republic to live r die. This is the sentiment cry one who has the honor

Wallachia and Moldavia the Russians have taken from the Turks, and we may expect to hear that they will shortly make further advances Eastward their ambition is .well known, and now they are at peace with their, neighbors, they must find out employ for their immense armies. " The Sultan of Muscat has assembled all the Arab tribes, and is in person gone to take Bahreign, he has been severely beaten by some Whuabee horse ; but is resolved to renew the attack, although he and all his party were obliged to fly to their boats, &c." Liberty of the Press in England, Mr. Sutton, editor of the Nottingham Review, has been tried by his majesty's attorney general, and condemned to suffer a year's imprisonment, for having published in his paper certain observations on the destruction of Washington by the British army during the late war. This transaction shews that there are men in England who entertain just ideas of the enormity of that barbarian atrocity, which has left so deep a stain on the character of that nation.
ruin, neither is there the slightest propect, or the most distant hope of any amendment. The desertion of farms by tenants, and the quantities of lands unoccupied, daily increase. In one barony in Clare county, that of Burren, there are upwards of 18,000 acres given up by the former tenants, and not occupied by any they remain quite waste. Let any man look found him and say how is the INTEREST of the Debtcalled, by courtey National to be paid, or by whom ?

Pensacola. BALTIMORE, MARCH 3 I. Captain Thomas, of the schr. Traverse the Ocean, informs us that he was on board the Fourth of July, com. Taylor, on the 4th of the present month, and was informed that the Patriots had taken and were in possession of Pensacola. The commodore further stated in corroboration of the above mentioned fact, that he had ordered several prizes to that port instead of sending them to Cape Francois as he has usually done. Latest from Europe. . Baltimore, 'Mar. x 1 . It is stated in a London paper that the current expenses of the year are deficient more than '20 millions. To this, next year, the Irish expenditure of four and a half millions, making a deficiency of 25 millions, unless the minister reduces, the national- expenses, which he will not do, unless he is forced to a reform. The London Courier of 21st of Jan. contain long accounts of the trials of the rioters, some of whom have been found guilty. It would appear that the- jury were much inclined to be merciful to these ufortunate men, as they acquitted 4 of them, much to thesurprise of the judge. New jurymen were to be impannclled to try the other rioters. The people of England and Ireland continue their loud complaints of the hardness of the times, and cry for a reform of the grievances. Even the Scotch, not easily moved in common cases have joined in the cry but the influence of governtment, backed by a powerful army, will be too strong for all the cries of the starving multitude. Cause of Darkness. REMARKABLE. On the 8th day of January it was so dark in the city of London that candles were lighted at mid day.
