tflE STOLES TOMfrSlOSE AOilN. As. we expected, the story we copied from Louisville Courier two weeks ago, turns out to be false, as the note below folly proves. The story originated in the following manner; Mr. Owens had contracted with Mr. Vanosdol of this place for a monument to be placed over the grave of bis and sold tho old tomb-stone to Mr, V. Mr. Y. sent and got the old stone, and sotne of the residents near by, (hoi knowing of the transaction between Messrs. Owens and Yanosdol,) started the story referred to: CiBHOLL Coustv, Ky.,) . done 16, 1860. | Mb. Waldo: — Yon will please have the article which recently appeared in your paper about a tombstone being.stolen corrected; as the Story is entirety false, and calculated to injure the feelings of others. 1 sold the tomb-stone reported to be stolen to Mr. Vanbsdol of Vevay. and be bad it removed. - Yours, respectfully, 0. G. Owksb. — The Louisville Courier, MadiVtfn Courier, and other papers that tflpfied the story, will please make the corrertim.
