—The Cincinnati Gazette of Monday, has the following details of the flood above that point:

At Marietta (be water was seven inches higher than during the great flood of. 1852, and much greater damage was sustained by the citizens. ‘ At Pomeroy the water is up in the sec* ond stories of the bouses along tbe shore, though the damage to property has been slight., Two little girls who were playing on a log Thursday, fell off from it and were dreamed before assistance co’d be given them. ■ • At Wheeling the loss of property has been very great. The water run over the island and the people were forced to quit their houses, /i'he suspension bridge was crowded from daylight until late in the day by wagons containing household goods, men, women and children. Bus. iness was suspended, and a desire to escape the impending danger swallowed up everything else along Water and; Main streets. The water coveted Main street bridge, and there was no other mentis of reaching Center Wheeling than by skiffs. . Some three or four of.the bridges .on ■the Elempfield railroad have been- swept away and a Jamnge'hos been caused that wilt require weeks, if not months to re* pair. Many of the bridges on theiletliany turnpike arc also gone, and many houses are overturned ami dangerous landslides made. ' ‘ . ; ' :

Extraordinary from Catholicism;— The inhabitants of liyp Bohemian villages in the vicinity of Konigfigralz', numbering about fivebiimlred bouts, have embraced Protestantism in ay body.' The extraordinary conversion is said to bo due to the molestations inflicted upon the people by their priests tijider tbe pretense of ,spiritual supervision.
