Painful Accident—A fatal accident occurred at the distillery ofMr.Wm.T. Rush. Clark Go..Ky., recently- During the min of that day. A UomEB axd Dacgiiteh Bcbsbo ToDiath!—Ono of the most painful accidents we havp chronicled far many years, occurred in Cotton Township, in this county, about eight miles from Vevay, on Saturday morning last, resulting in the death of the wife and daughter of Mr. Soloman "Washer, an old and highly esteemed citizen of this county. Tbs particulars arc about as. follows: Mrs. Washer and her daughter were up stairs,"and the daughter, who was subject to tits, went down stairs. Mrs. Washer was partly deaf, and she soon smelt something burning, and although she lean) no noise,, shajtarted down to see wbat Was tbe matter, where slm Ton ml Iut daughter laying in tho Sre, and her clothes on fire. Mrs. Washer pulled her out of the firo, and ran to the door to coll her husband who was nt the bam, some distance from tbe boose; bnt, as she started to the door her ddthea look fire and i£ is believed that she waa unable to give (he alarm, the dames spread so rapidly over her. However, Mr. Washer saw the smoke coming out, and ran to thehonse, and endeavored to rescue ithem, and we learn that he fanned bis own hands and arms quite severely iu his endeavors to pot out the flames; but, alas! his efforts were in vain. His daughter died on the same evening, aui his wife on the next morning. Thus, has passed away two* noble and estimable women who wore an ofnament to aiy neighborhood,— The family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community, in this thair sad bereavement.
