The resolution adopted by the House that they would pais no bill after 12 o’clock, Friday .night, .was reconsidered, and the considerations of bills continued nntil midnight Saturday. Lieutenant Governor Hammond appeared and took the Chair, for the Erst time since tbs 2Glh of January. The Lieutenant Governor is much reduced, and hardly able to reassume his duties, hut it was thought necessary that ho hbould adjourn the Senate. A contingency might occur in two years, which would make it necessary for a President pro tern, to preside when the Senate was to be organized. The law submitting the question of holding & constitutional convention.Jo a vole of the people at the mext October election was signed by the Governor. An act directing the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund to purchase from $400,000 to 8500,000 in Uvo and two and a half per cent stocks, passed. . The bill increasing the salaries of Hie officers of State passed both branches, and has doubtless been approved by the Governor.
