Upwards of twenty machine* were cntarot! v and the display at starting was fine —ell did wall* bat it.was soon apparent that the teal coolest was between Manny, with Wood’s improvement, and the Kelcham machine. / The struggle was dose, Manny coming in slightJy ahead. , The result was hailed with cheers by the multitude, in which the friends of the Hetchnm machine heartily Joined. ' The fact of the rapidity of work,? however, does Hot determine the question of superiority. The other'tests will be made during the tfaek. . The weather was fine, aniTall the contestants were ip good spirits.
