The Mormon Question. The Hon. Geo. G. Dunn of this district has taken the first step in bringing the Mormon question before the public. The correspondent of the Philadelphia En-
quirer says: The first serious blow at the existing social system in the territory of Utah was struck in the House, yesterday, by Mr. Dean, of Indiana. Mr. Grow of your State, Chairman of the Committee Territories, introduced a bill in Committee of the Whole, providing for the erection of a Capitol building in that territory, and moved that it be reported to the House, with a recommendation that it pass. Mr. Dann at once took the floor, and, in a few brief, but severe remarks, opposed any and every appropriation to Utah, so long as the people were living in open and avowed hostility to the usages of morality and religion, as well as in actual violation of the laws of the United States. At Mr. Dunn's instance, Mr. Grow's motion was amended, and the bill reported back to the House with a recommendation that it do not pass. When the bill is reached in regular session there will doubtless be considerable discussion upon it and the subject be laid before the country. ~~~~~~~
