“Arlene Dahl Uncovers Some New Talents

By United Press, HOLLYWOOD — Arlene Dahl, the gorgeous red head usually seen

costumed to the Adam’s apple in §

period movies, ‘is experiencing a revolution in her career, all because o photographer shot “one for the wall.” It started calmly enough. Arlene was posing for pictures in a peignoir, a frothy bit of not-much the, girls wear over nightgowns, The photographer snapped her from various angles and pronounced the job done. { Then he asked her to pose for “one for the wall,” the wall in question being in the ad agency and liberally plastered with photos of’ celebrities who posed for gag shots parodying the advertisements you see in the national magazines. Arlene obligingly jumped in the middle of a prop bed on all fours, dropped her head and let her carefully prepared hair-do fall over her face in a tousled tangle. The photographer fired away. The next thing the blue-eyed| star knew, the picture was decorating the cover of Life Magazine.

Producers Convinced

“l was speechless when the magazine came out,” she said. “There I was on the cover—an| awful lot of me, really. That sheer material of the peignoir was drawn tight here and there, and 1! showed n What = through was enough to convince producers that Arlene had been hiding a fot of talent beneath the heavy costumes she had been wearing on the screen. “Now I'm being offered entirely different parts,” Arlene said— “Sexy ones like Jean Harlow used to play. It's opened up a whole! new facet in my career.” A typical example of the new Arlene Dahl will seen in Uni-versal-International’s “Desert Legion,” in which she plays the rote of a temptress who does her vamping in a harem costume. consisting of a few well-arranged twists of cloth for a bodice and transparent pantaloons.

Pleads Not Guilty In Bank Robbery

Times State Service JEFFERSONVILLE, Sept. 20— A 17-year-old Kentucky youth, charged with robbing the Sellersburg State Bank of $31,300 Friday, today was held under $20,000 bond here. Attorneys for John Richardson III, entered a formal plea of not guilty for him in Clark Circuit Court here on one count of bank robbery. His case was transferred from the Juvenile Court on motion of the prosecutor, who said “other counts” would be entered later. The youth, who told authorities he was “short of funds” to enroll in college, was captured in a state police road block seven minutes after he is alleged to have robbed the bank and then kidnaped a

A message to every TV set owner who is tired of paying $5-$10-$15 for the same TV repairs over and over again and who is unfairly blaming his service man for something that is not his fault.
