War | Unit Holds Reunion

Half the survivors of Indianap-| olis’ only World War I ambulance | company gathered at a Boone, County farm home yesterday to picnic and reminisce.

With the exception of the World | War Il years, the members of American Red Cross Ambulance Co. 13 have met each year since 1029. Thirty-three men answered | the call yesterday. Out of the original company of 97 men, 31 are deceased. f Robert St. Pierre, 602 E. The veterans came from as far as Seattle, Wash., for the session. The volunteer ambulance company was formed in April, 1917, with equipment donated and fipanced by Indiamapolis merchants and industries. The volunteers were restrained

from going to war by the govern- |§ ment until the 1§. S. entered the

conflict, when the 97 volunteers joined the Army as a unit. Plans for next year’s reunion were made at yesterday's meet-| ing. “We're not getting mellow,” Mr. St. Pierre said, “but I sup-| pose we'll keep on meeting till the last man.” Mr. Tinch’s farm home will be the site for the 1953 meeting.
